The Greens have called for another Victorian Government review of poker
machines, saying the current one fails to address the most significant
issues.
The State Government has asked for public submissions by the end of the
week to its review of the structure of the gaming industry.
Greens Upper House candidate Greg Barber says the investigation is not
broad enough and does not acknowledge the social problems caused by
pokies.
"It's only really a review of the structure of the industry and it
doesn't address the major question that most Victorians want addressed
and that is, should we have pokies at all and if so, how many," he said.
