Publicly listed portal operator Interactive Gaming Holdings has acquired UK-based sportsbook Premierbet for £1m, its second sportsbook acquisition this year.
IGH bought Malta-based credit sportsbook Heathorns for £750,000 in March, and plans to relaunch the service to recreational users later this year.
The latest purchase, Permierbet, is a predominately soccer betting website founded by legendary bettor Tony Bloom, and focuses on the higher stakes gamblers.
And Thomas Taule, chief executive of IGH, told eGaming Review IGH will look to keep the firm’s existing trading strategy.
“They have always taken on larger bets and taken a view on events, and that is something we will continue to do,” Taule said.
“Somebody that may want to place a larger wager would go to the Premierbet brand, and Heathorns will be going after the more recreational customer,” he added.
Taule said IGH would also look to expand the portfolio of products offered by Permierbet, adding a poker room to its casino and sports betting options.
“We think there is plenty of opportunity to grow by offering more sporting events and a more complete gaming offering,” he added.
Premierbet currently offers a casino through a deal with white label gaming operator St Minver, but Taule said the deal is unlikely to be renewed.
“It is very safe to say Premierbet will not remain on the St Minver system, as a direct licence makes more financial sense to us,” he said.
And he added IGH had not finished its acquisition plans.
“It is very likely we will conclude another transaction by the end of the year,” Taule said.
