Verizon Wireless, NBC Sports, and Abandon Mobile have teamed up to put another poker game into the cell phone market.
NBC
Sports Heads-Up Poker is now available to Verizon Wireless Get It Now
customers for $2.99 monthly access or $7.49 for unlimited use purchase.
The release coincides with the premiere of the second season of the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship on Sunday. The game was released late last week.
Poker
games have dominated the mobile game market in recent months, according
to Telephia, a company that keeps track of trends and statistics for
the mobile phone industry.
According to Telephia’s Deck
Monitoring Report, more than 20 percent of the top deck slots across
the major carriers are occupied by poker game titles and in February
and March, the top four carriers in the U.S. had at least two different
poker titles on their top 15 best sellers lists.
The game will be available until May 31.
