Virgin Games has launched Virgin Bets, a branded betting service, to monetize the increasing public fascination with novelty type bets and entertainment proposition betting.
Virgin Bets takes wagers on all forms of sporting events and entertainment propositions and futures. Virgin bets will initially offer wagering on entertainment, premiership and European football, cricket, motor sport, rugby and tennis. Horseracing is slated to be included later in 2007.
Virgin partnered with bookmakers Betfair and Virgin Games CEO Simon Burridge said that the partnership means that much of the time Virgin Bets "odds will be better value than traditional bookies, meaning punters can place their bets with confidence that they are getting the best deal."
