Tottenham have signed one of the biggest shirt sponsorship deals in football after agreeing terms on a four-year contract with internet casino group Mansion.
The deal, which becomes effective on July 1st, will be worth at least £34 million to the north London club, making it one of the world's ten largest club sponsorship agreements.
It will run until the end of the 2009/10 season and will see Mansion partner Tottenham across a wide range of international commercial activities.
The deal will also see the gambling firm contribute £1.5 million to Spurs' community scheme aimed at helping young people in the local area.
Daniel Levy, Tottenham chairman, welcomed confirmation of the deal and added: "Mansion represented the best partnership opportunity for Spurs, in commercial terms and, just as importantly, in respect of the excellent synergy between the two organisations.
"We share similar ambitions to grow and extend our respective brands in many of the world's key and developing economies and we have already discussed ideas on how we might achieve this by working together."
The deal will almost certainly see extra transfer funds handed to Spurs head coach Martin Jol who is confident the partnership can help propel the club to the next level and to Champions League qualification.
"It's a terrific deal for the club," he said. "Mansion joins us at an exciting time.
"With a new sponsor like Mansion on board this year and a young squad, next season promises to be an exciting campaign, one I am looking forward to."track End of story
